  • Meghan Markle is reportedly feeling "discouraged" by the high standard set by Kate Middleton.
  • The Duchess is also dealing with a "sense of isolation being in the U.K., subject to cruel British media."

Can we all agree that Meghan Markle has been through it lately? The Duchess is clearly doing her best to help people and use her new platform for good, but nary a day goes by that randoms online don't come @ her.

And apparently part of the problem is the extremely high standard people seem to hold Kate Middleton to, which they now hold Megs to as well. Kinda ridiculous since they! are! not! the! same! person! Anyway, according to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, the Duchess "feels that there is a standard set very high" by Kate, and "it’s discouraging that the British public holds her up to that."

It's been especially hard for Meghan to be targeted by negative British press—especially in the wake of lots of unfair and—let's be honest—pretty racist criticism. “Meghan has this sense of isolation being in the U.K., subject to cruel British media," the source says. "Her hands are tied and she isn’t allowed to defend herself. It has been very difficult.”

Ugh, to put it bluntly: this sucks. It's unclear whether Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, or their representatives will release a statement in her defense, but either way everyone needs to remember that Meghan's a human with feelings who's trying her best FFS!
